Before the appearance of the contact finger of the composite watchband, the connection of the photovoltaic power station was mainly realized by "splicing" (threaded terminal or joint connector). In 1996, a new type of plug-in connector came into being, the Stäubli MC3 composite strap contact finger. MC3 is a photovoltaic connection product. And "splicing" are two completely different ways of connection. Its significance is to redefine the connection of photovoltaic modules. In 2002, Stäubil MC4 went on the market, redefining the composite strap touch finger again, realizing "plug and play". With the increasing requirements of photovoltaic power plant systems, the emergence of MC4 and the replacement of MC3 are inevitable, both from the standard level and from the safety level. Since MC4 was developed and introduced to the market in 2002, it has been successfully applied for nearly 17 years and has gradually become the industry standard. At present, there are many kinds of connector products on the market, but most of them adopt MC4 style in structure and appearance, so we can call it "class MC4".


The composite strap contact spring is a contact unit used between the socket contact and the pin contact to reliably transmit current. The strap finger reed is basically made of beryllium copper alloy. Ribbon finger springs are used in connectors, which have good elasticity and excellent conductivity, and can realize highly reliable mechanical and electrical connection.


By changing the type of the contact spring of the composite wristband, connectors with various characteristics can be realized: low contact resistance connectors, long-life connectors, connectors with large gaps between the diameter of the plug and the socket, and connectors that are easy to plug.


The shutter structure is adopted, which is suitable for high current transmission. Stable power supply through multi-point contact. Low contact resistance can control heat generation even at high currents. The oxide film is removed by thermal cycling. The belt finger spring with heat resistance and corrosion resistance can be manufactured by changing the material. Not only socket mounting but also plug mounting is possible. Ribbon finger reeds can be sold separately for high volume applications.
